I’ve been known to take too long to post weddings when friends are involved. I think it has something to do with feeling like a blog post can’t possibly do the wedding justice and Alex and Shawn’s wedding last summer is the perfect example. I started looking forward to this wedding even before Alex and Shawn were engaged. It’s so fun to see two people love each other so much that you know a proposal is just around the corner. So with that said, Alex and Shawn, hopefully this post can give everyone else a little glimpse into the magic of your day. Just so you know, really I’d prefer to enlarge every single image and display them in a grand space (likely the halls of the Chateau) and have everyone walk through it with you so we could all relive it frame by frame, but alas, I think this post will have to do for now.
This engagement session is the perfect way to end the week and lead into Valentine’s Day weekend. I can only imagine the fun that these to have planned! Snuggled in their makeshift lace tent, playing vinyl on their dance party record player, Kristina and Graham pulled out the stops to create something personal for their engagement session.
Majestic Jack Pines and The Group of Seven were the inspiration behind this soft, woodsy, Canadian-themed shoot styled by the endlessly talented Lynn Lee Weddings, and our beloved Le Belvedere was the location that fit the bill the best. I love the drive from Ottawa to Wakefield up to this venue. As the road winds into the hills and the trees break through into view, I always feel like I open up just a little bit more than in the city. I am a country girl at heart after all and my pup Lucy can’t get enough of it up there.
This time Lynn created an inspiration for weddings that could suit a grand location or a simple one. I love that Lynn’s designs always create transferrable art and each wedding I’ve shot for her is a creation unto itself. The team of vendors she asked to join this time are also top of their game. Inspiration shoots really are the perfect spring board to get ideas for the look and feel you may seek for your wedding and also the vendors that can really pull it off.
