Karen & Ian . Married at the Baldachin Inn

This is not your every day wedding.

Homemade Tetris blocks as centerpieces, chocolate Dungeon and Dragon’s dice as cupcake toppers, swords, a king, a knight and a Princess Bride ceremony, I’ve never seen anything like this before and that’s exactly what Karen and Ian wanted for their guests on their wedding day. Most clued into the mock ceremony when the priest opened with the ever-famous “Mah-wage” speech. As some of you may recall, that’s the scene in the movie The Princess Bride when Prince Humperdink tries to marry Princess Buttercup.

Unlike in the movie however, Karen and Ian were in fact successfully married and they pulled off exactly the kind of day they wanted. They had everyone smiling and laughing and I’m pretty sure it’s a day that will not soon be forgotten.  What floored me even more was how all their little details came together. Karen’s Dad made all the tetris blocks by hand, they were all hand painted, the escort cards had super hero symbols to direct you to your table (we were Captain America!) and as a surprise Karen’s Dad, who was also the MC, dressed up as a king and even had jesters. This takes planning.

Hats off to following your own script, I think you’re definitely off to the right start.
