In June, Catalina Bloch asked me to work with her on an inspiration shoot shot on my favorite medium, film.
You’ll notice a lot more coming from me in this format in the days, months and years to come. There’s a different quality in film that’s real and true and while I also love digital images and the beauty you can create with it, it’s so fulfilling to take a step back into my past, remember the days I spent losing myself in the darkroom and the feeling I got getting back those magical images days after I took them. Plus, you should hear the camera work, it’s magical.
For this session Catalina brought to life her vision of eco-beauty, inspired by gorgeous, sensible and organic leaf plates by VerTerra. The incredible florals were created by Erin Carmichael of Full Bloom Floral Design, the totally unique and edgy wedding cake was created by Matt Somers of It’s a Matter of Cake, the beautiful Monique Lhuillier gown was provided by Jasmine Craig of The White Dress, the intricate calligraphy was created by Maureen Koo, the male model’s handsome suit was custom made by Indochine and his incredible shoes were by John Varvatos and provided by Wolf and Zed. The furniture was provided by Casa Luna, the jewellery by Magpie Jewellery and the napkins by UnOriginalAmerican.
This session was also recently posted on The Wedding Chicks and a huge thank you to one of my former bride’s Jennifer Swadling for all her help on this day. xo
